A CIRCLE RUNE
The
following Circle Rune is from the (Rainbow) Serpent Tradition and
was written for Rhea and Raven on the occasion of their handfasting
in 1990. You are welcome to use it in your rituals, however,
if you copy it into your BoS, please credit Cyfrin and our Tradition.
There
is a brief introduction to the Serpent Tradition at the end of the
Circle Rune. If you have any other questions about us, email
Rhea, Raven
or Cyfrin.
Illuminated
Images throughout the Rune are by Antonia.

The
ring of stones,
the spiral maze,
The whirling rush
of nights and days,
The dance of life
from birth to death,
The dying sigh,
the infant breath;
Our endless paths
through time and space
All circle round
with measured pace;
And thus between
the Worlds is made
The Witches' realm
by Witch's blade.
So mote it be.

CALLING
THE QUARTERS |
|
|
AIR
Rushing wind and swirling breeze,
Singing swords and falcon's flight;
Whisp'ring through the rustling trees
Is Heaven's breath from Heaven's height.
Ancient powers everlasting,
Free our minds to guide this rite;
Bless the Circle of our casting:
Sanctify our Work tonight.
|
|
FIRE
Dragon wands erupting fire,
Lightning flashes blazing bright;
Passion's flames rise ever higher,
Sired by eternal light.
Ancient powers everlasting,
Fire our wills to charge this rite;
Bless the Circle of our casting:
Sanctify our Work tonight.
|
|
|
WATER
Rushing ocean waves aglow with
Sea foam splashing silvery white;
Moonlit cauldrons overflow with
Dreaming, visions, astral sight.
Ancient powers everlasting,
Fill our hearts to charm this rite;
Bless the Circle of our casting;
Sanctify our Work tonight.
|
|
EARTH
In each stone may be awoken
Cavern's depth and mountain's might;
Each holds secrets never spoken,
Sacred, solemn, recondite.
Ancient powers everlasting,
Strengthen us to guard this rite;
Bless the Circle of our casting;
Sanctify our Work tonight.
|
|
SPIRIT
Now the temple is erected,
Now the Circle is begun,
Now the pattern is perfected,
Now the web is newly spun.
Salt for savor, oil for pleasure,
Fivefold leaf - the spell doth run;
Blend in water each a measure
That the four may be as one.
As I do will, so be it done.

AND CAKES
In

The Lord and Lady's powers combine;

By marriage of the grail and knife,
By unified polarity,
We consecrate these gifts of life
That all who share may blessed be.

Let love between us ever be.
